uMngeni-uThukela Water wishes to inform residents, consumers and stakeholders of a planned 8-hour shutdown of the South Coast Pipeline (SCP), supplied from Amanzimtoti Waterworks, on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, from 08:00 to 16:00.
The shutdown is necessary to facilitate repairs to a leak that has been identified on a section of the pipeline between Amanzimtoti Waterworks and the South Coast Pipeline system.
As a result, water supply may be interrupted or reduced in parts of the southern areas of the eThekwini Municipality and the Ugu District during the 8-hour shutdown period.
Residents and consumers are encouraged to store sufficient water for essential household use and to use water sparingly during this period.
uMngeni-uThukela Water apologises for the inconvenience caused and appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation while these essential repairs are undertaken to maintain the integrity and reliability of the water supply system.
